Projek Hujung Minggu

Bermula seawal jam 10 malam, Hari jumaat malam sabtu yang lalu... bermulalah projek kuih raya saya... Hehehe..

Kuih pertama : Chocolate Chip Cookies. Got the recipe from forwarded emails. I started from 10 pm to almost 2 am baru habis semua. The first batch masuk oven, terpaksa dibakul sampah kan sebab hangus hitam legam. Sampai berasap oven saya... kes..kes..kes... but the next batch, alhamdulillah...ok. Sedap rasanya. Cuma keras sikit but still edible. Huhuhuhhu.... I have done my search through internet. Perhaps the following were my mistakes that causes the cookies keras sikit:

• I beated my flour in with the hand mixer at high speed instead of stir it/beat it at lower speed i.e i overmixing the dough
• I think i overcook the cookies. The temperature may be not as accurate as it should be.

And due to kekerasan cookies tu, I plan to eat it myself...not as part of my kuih raya. malu la nk bagik org makan cookies keras. Tapi family member bleh rasa yer... 

The next day, saturday morning, saya buat resepi yang memang tak pernah ketinggalan dibuat oleh keluarga belah saya... Cornflake madu. Dah lama x buat sendiri (tahun-tahun lepas adik saya tolong buatkan) terpaksa call adik saya mintak exact measurement of ingredient. Heheheh...

Alhamdulillah....senang yo nak buat kuih ni. Kejap jer dah siap.

Next kuih, saya buat biskut nescafe (sabtu malam) and biskut peanut butter (ahad pagi). Ni resepi kuih belah suami saya pulak. Saya siap amik buku resepi; handwritten by my MIL nak buat kuih2 raya ni (buku resepi tu dah berusia 22 tahun tau!). Since this year pun my MIL x buat kuih raya, I offered to buatkan untuk dia sekali.  My SIL yang bongsu datang my house to help me buat these two biscuits. Alhamdulillah....semua ok. Cuma quantity yang terhasil tu agak sedikit (coz the resepi tu each batch adunan sikit jer...) So next week may be nak kena buat lagi sekali.

Semua kuih2 tu (kecuali chocolate chip) telah selamat dikirim ke rumah MIL petang tadi (my SIL yg bawak balik).

Next Kuih Raya Project : Plan to bake another batch of Biskut nescafe and biskut peanut butter. Also to bake biskut kelapa (my MIL fav) and tart nenas; kalau masa mengizinkan and if my MIL buat inti nenasnya...hehehe (nak buat sendiri takut x sedap lak...).

Tomorrow is monday... Just a weak+ to Hari Raya. Kejap betul masa berlalu...

p/s: Buat entry sambil tengok Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayengge... teringat zaman2 belajar kat uni dulu... siap 'bukak panggung' (guna computer) kat bilik dengan roommates and kawan2 nak tengok cerita hindustan.
